We offer the following trainings for those in the medical field:

Basic Life Support CPR Training (BLS)

The American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. This is a 2 hour course designed for existing and new healthcare professionals including hospital employees and medical or dental office employees.

This course can be taken one of two ways, you can register for the full course which includes both lecture and hands on training, or you can complete the lecture  portion online at www.onlineaha.org and then register for a skill pass off session.

Course Length: Approx 2-3 hours (dependent on class size)

Bloodborne Pathogens

Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens Course is a classroom course that teaches employees how to protect themselves and others from being exposed to blood or blood-containing materials.
This course is designed to meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements for bloodborne pathogens training when paired with site-specific instruction.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)

Providers will enhance their skills in treating adult victims of cardiac arrest or other cardiopulmonary emergencies. This course emphasizes the:
importance of basic life support CPR to patient survival
integration of effective basic life support with ACLS interventions
importance of effective team interaction and communication during resuscitation
The course includes simulated clinical scenarios that encourage active, hands-on participation through learning stations where students practice essential skills individually, as part of a team, and as team leader. This course includes:

  • 1-rescuer CPR, AED
  • Defibrillation
  • Airway management
  • Rhythm recognition
  • IV/IO access
  • Use of medications
  • Cardioversion
  • Transcutaneous pacing
  • Effective resuscitation team dynamics

Course length: Approx 12 Hours generally over two days

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Gives healthcare professionals the knowledge and skills to better recognize and treat critically ill infants and children. The course uses a scenario-based, team approach to teach pediatric emergency management of pediatric patients approaching or already in respiratory or cardiac arrest. It covers treatment beyond the first few emergency minutes and goes through stabilizing patients or transport phases of a pediatric emergency, in or out of the hospital. This course includes:

  • Recognition and treatment of infants and children at risk for cardio-pulmonary arrest
  • The systematic approach to pediatric assessment
  • Effective respiratory management
  • Validate skills for 1- and 2-person CPR and AED skills for infant and child
  • Defibrillation and synchronized cardioversion
  • Intraosseous access and fluid bolus administration
  • Effective resuscitation team dynamics

Course length: Approx 12 Hours generally over two days
